I live at the foot of Table Mountain, in a red house, with a view over the towering mountain with scenes that constantly change. I live amongst people that are strange and colorful and inspire my writing. I’d love to call myself an Existentialist, but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I’m a voyeur, constantly looking at the world but rarely getting involved.
I used to write in my native tongue, Afrikaans, however have been writing more in English as it allows me a wider audience. I do attempt to translate my poetry, hoping that the original message does not fall to the wayside. I dabble in the theatrical arts and have written many plays, some of which have been performed with great success.
Between juggling a corporate job and life in general I find myself not writing as much as I’d like to but still jab down phrases and words in notebooks and post-it notes. Once in a while I sit down, sift and try to create something of worth. I’m still trying…
