After being dishwasher,deckhand,fieldhand,welder,soldier,sheet-metal worker, plastics molder, car salesman,pipeline-worker,veteran-student,soft-water deliveryman, agricultural researcher, and senior groundskeeper for California State Parks, I decided enough was enough. And I had been neglecting writing much too long. So we packed up and retired to the high plains of New Mexico.
I have been writing a long time, intermittently, but it took the acceptance of the hard truth that RE-writing was absolute (I don't care what Kerouac claimed, the lazy bastard) before my work began to see acceptance. I have been published in Menda City Review, 5th Story Review (defunct), Sage of Consciousness, Cause and Effect, Written Word Magazine, and others.
alcarty's Genres: Literary, memoir, western.
