okay, first things first. that's not me. the picture, i mean. it's not me. it's bill evans, the jazz pianist. but look, i'll make a deal with you; if i ever get to a point where i'm as cool as bill, or even where a picture of me is as cool as that picture of bill, i swear i'll put it in there.
as for me - born in new york city, grew up there and outside chicago. went to school in connecticut in the long shadow of edward albee. spent some time in brooklyn, spent some time down the river from miles' boyhood home. now i'm back east, somewhere between walt whitman and william carlos williams.
and i think that's about as much arcane name-dropping as anyone ought to have to wade through for a while.
