I was born into a family of of people who liked to read a lot. I was the rebel, so in the first twenty years of my life, I rarely opened a book unless I had to. Then, halfway through college, I realized that I liked to read, and from that point on I spent most of my free time reading a lot of 20th century fiction. A little while later I started writing short stories. About ten years after that, I finally wrote something that I actually liked.
I've published three novels and a collection of short stories with iUniverse. (This kind of publishing is often called self-publishing, but it's really just subsidy publishing.) You can learn more about my books by visiting my web site (www.rbkaplan.com), and you can learn more about me in general by reading my blog (rbkaplan.blogspot.com).
The stories I'm posting here are from the "Essential Stories" collection, and even though they were all written in the previous millennium, I'm still interested in getting feedback about them.
rbkaplan's Genres: Unusual fiction (usually somewhat humorous)
